NXIVM: What do YOU think it is?

DISCLAIMER: Smallville is in my top 3 shows and I think Kristin Kreuk and Allison Mack are great actresses. That being said, I know people in the acting business personally. They are normal. They don’t have higher brain functioning then the rest of us and need to be held to the same standard as everyone else in terms of supplying evidence for their beliefs.

I’ve decided to be more authentic and honest when posting. I am a Christian and I believe in Jesus. Even though I’m a Christian, I still have respect for other religions. For example, consider Islam. If you ask a Muslim what they believe they will tell you and will be allowed to talk to you about it outside the mosque. There’s something to be said for religions that are upfront about what they believe.

Honesty is important to me so it confused me to no end when I looked up information on the group that Allison Mack and Kristin Kreuk are members of. (Kristin Kreuk was spotted at the meetings and Allison Mack posted about the NXIVM conference on her blog and on a message board, third post from the bottom. Take what you will from her message, but she seemed to imply that those who felt uneasy about NXIVM were the ones with a problem).

The group is called NXIVM (pronounced nex-ee-um, like the medicine) and was started in 1998 by failed pyramid scheme marketer, Keith Raniere. It was unclear from the official website what exactly the goal of the group is. It’s non-religious but believes there is one standard of morality. I would be grateful if anyone reading this can enlighten me as to what the goals of NXIVM are.

The Dalia Lama was scheduled to speak at NXIVM in Albany, New York. This was canceled due to controversy surrounding the group. Also, in 2003 the Ross Institute wrote a few articles on the “interesting” goings-on in NXIVM and were taken to court. (The case was dismissed).

This all seems very suspect to me. I believe that everyone’s voice is equal as long as they can give evidence and argue their case well. As it is, groups like NXIVM and other “cults” are getting by on celebrity (?) endorsements. I think that the internet has made the playing field of beliefs more equal but certain people still believe that those with more money are also given more intelligence.

Everyone deserves  to have their voice heard. Groups need to give evidence that what they believe is true. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Atheists and various other people write books. They speak openly and honestly about what they believe and why they believe it to be true without attempting to hide or cover up. NXIVM and it’s members need to be held to the same standard.

EDIT: Here is a page listing others views on NXIVM. Forbes magazine also wrote an article on Keith Raniere. There are many other articles about NXIVM (formally called Executive Sucess Programs) here.

  1. You have a few facts wrong — but overall you’re on the right track. Oh, and Raniere’s objectives are very simple: control as many women as he can (the women have to abide by his rules concerning their weight and hairstyle) — and get them to give him their money. It’s kind of like Bernie Madoff and David Koresh rolled into one!!

    • I wonder if that is what Jness, which is associated with NXIVM, is all about? On the superficial front, it’s a group where women can get together and “be women”, but nefariously it’s a way that this Raniere guy can get women to look up to him and do his bidding.

      • Jness is another medium by which members are recruited. Women and be women without the “assistance” of Vanguard or Prefect (Nancy Salzman). Don’t forget World Ethical Consortium and all the other subsidiary groups to NXIVM. Stay far far away.

  2. Keith Raniere is a fraud. He seems like a self-aggrandizing, manipulator, who has made wild claims about himself and his ideas, symptoms that are a result of someone who probably suffers from narcissistic personality disorder. If I was a semi-attractive woman, I wouldn’t even go near him, let alone two beautiful girls like Kristin and Allison.

  3. NXIVM is a LGAT. Organizations of these types are really shady. They have been rightly accused of being “cult”-like. Their purpose is to get you in the door and then literally confuse the hell out of you. Their deceptive purpose is to have you question your assumptions so they can tear down your existing beliefs and then slowly change and mold them for their benefit. Ironically, they don’t apply the same type of questioning and standards to their own garbage. They don’t want any of your answers to be rectified, they just want you to continue to “learn and grow” seeking “joy”, but go nowhere and never obtain it. Their methodologies often lead to dependency, where cyclic periods of “joy” are followed by “depression”, with vacuous moments of supposed clarity interleaved, that make you keep coming back, almost like an addiction. They want you to give them your time and constantly pay them more money for “courses” (and I put that in quotes for a reason). They are secretive and manipulative. They regurgitate the same terms repetitively without any sense of resolution: “human being”, “evolve”, “grow”, “joy”, “compassion”, etc. The “ethics” is just the hook for the business. The “ethics” is whatever you want them to be. It’s depressing that people who have been brainwashed into it can’t see through the nonsense.

Who in their right mind believes someone like Raniere when he spews his self-inflated, unverifiable, nonsensical accomplishments?

I don’t know if Kristin or Allison are still in it or not. But I know they were, and it’s a shame that both of them were associated with it and had to hide the fact that they were.

  4. They are popular among teens and college students. If they are in NXIVM, then the kids should know these two actresses are involve in NXIVM schemes to recruit young poeple. Why isn’t this well-known?

  5. Ranieres bio is an idiots delight, there is alot of funny stuff like in the first paragraph :

“By the age of one, he could construct full sentences and questions…”

I always believed that it was at about the age of 2 that a child could “really” speak and has a vocabulary of approx. 50 words… At 12 month !?! Wow ! What a freak !!!
